Making 5

We have been learning about making 5. We used multi link cubes to make a model using 5 cubes. Some of our models included: a phone, the u sound, a tower and a bridge. 

Then we used the numicon to explore different components of making 5. We were only allowed to use 2 pieces of numicon to make 5. We have started to show our recording in a number sentence using + and =. We are trying to find all the combinations to make 5, not forgetting that we can have 4+1=5 and also 1+4=5. 

Using the dough we also investigated the components of 5.
