The Weather

1st May 2018

In the Summer term our topic is ‘The Weather’.

Wind

Miss Butler asked us a question: ‘Can we see the wind?’ We used describing words to talk about the wind. We had 4 activities to explore wind.

  1. Creating pinwheels by decorating, cutting and joining using staples and split pins.
  2. Using paint and straws with a partner to create a picture.
  3. Blowing bubbles and watching how the wind made them travel.
  4. Exploring travelling with the streamers and how the wind makes it move.

Snow

We talked about how much fun we have had in the snow. We created a snow picture using water colours and glitter.

Sun

We investigated ‘what melts in the sun?’

We found out that chocolate and ice melt in the sun but the other objects did not.

Volcano

We watched a video to show us a volcano erupting and then carried out our own experiment.
