Year 6 took a 'hands on' approach when recapping on how to exchange when adding and subtracting. We used 'Dienes' apparatus to see how exchanging is done visually and played games on the computer and board games to enhance our learning of addition and subtraction and to also make it FUN!
We were then ready to tackle addition and subtraction through written methods...and it was as easy as 1,2,3!
